Nice to Meet You

Originally from Rome, Italy, where I graduated in Politics, Philosophy, and Economics from LUISS Guido Carli University. I moved to California to pursue a degree in Political Science at California State University, Long Beach, with a major in Law, Politics, and Policy and a minor in Political Theory. Throughout my academic journey, I have dedicated my studies to delving into pressing social issues. Specifically, I have analyzed crime and mass incarceration, focusing particularly on the State of California. Moreover, throughout my research, I have scrutinized the intersectionality of imprisonment and crime with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), concentrating on the unique challenges faced by individuals with disabilities stemming from imprisonment and the subsequent impact on their employment prospects upon reentry into society.

My academic journey has equipped me with a comprehensive understanding of policymaking processes, and the legal frameworks that underpin them. Inevitably, my research endeavors have instilled in me a commitment to advocating for the rights of marginalized communities, including but not limited to incarcerated and formerly incarcerated individuals, individuals with disabilities, members of the LGBTQ+ community, and women. My academic journey and my research focuses have lead me to work as a Systems Change Youth Advocate for the Disability Community Resource Center (DCRC), where I advocate for youth with disabilities and system-impacted youth. At DCRC, I have developed a coalition named Empowerment & Transition Network. The coalition is dedicated to connecting system-impacted youth with disabilities to essential resources, and bridging service gaps through a collaborative referral network.

Additionally, I serve as the Co-Secretary of the Board of Directors for Beyond Bars Foundation, furthering my commitment to supporting the rights and reentry of incarcerated individuals.
